We are excited to announce the release of a new tile! On Tuesday, March 3, our new Claddagh tile will be available to the public. Our new tile was inspired by classic Irish imagery used in Claddagh ring (Irish: fáinne Chladaigh) designs.
The symbolism and design of the rings were borne in the town of Claddagh, Ireland during the 17th century. The imagery in a Claddagh ring represents love, loyalty, and friendship. The heart is for love. The crown represent loyalty. And the hands are for friendship.
The symbolism of the ring also connects to how the ring is worn. There are 4 different ways. The first way is wearing it on the right ring finger, with the tip of the heart facing towards the fingers. This means that the wearer is single. Flip the ring the other way around on the same finger, and it means they’re in a relationship. If someone wears it on their left hand with the tip of the heart facing towards the fingers, it shows that they’re engaged. If the tip of the heart is facing towards their wrist on the left hands, this shows that the wearer is married.
Framed Lime Claddagh, $152 | Frames Must Be Pre-orderd with a lead time of 6-8 weeks.
We are proud to share the historic tradition of the Claddagh through our tile. We know it will brighten up any space and bring a tiny taste of Irish tradition and love into your home.
