Hands-On-Workshops
Pewabic Pottery's hands-on workshops offer participants the opportunity to create a clay tile in our Education Studio. Each workshop includes a tour of the Pottery, a National Historic Landmark and Michigan's only Arts & Craft-era pottery. Here are answers to commonly asked questions.

Who will teach the workshop?
Pewabic's workshops are taught by experienced ceramic educators and talented ceramic artists. They also teach year-round Education Studio classes and community outreach programs.

When are workshops scheduled?
Hands-on workshops are scheduled weekdays, between 10:00a.m. and 4:00p.m. Each workshop lasts approximately two hours.

Who may attend children or adult workshops?
For children workshops participants must at least 4 years old (we suggest one adult helper per six children). Regardless of the age, our minimum is 10 and our maximum is 60 participants per tour. We welcome smaller groups but do charge them for a minimum rate of ten participants.

How much will each workshop cost?
The workshop and tour is $15 per person. This fee includes all materials, glazes and kiln firing of each piece. Please pay in full the day of your workshop. Your instructor will assist you with payment procedures.

When will our work be ready?
Each participant will create and decorate a clay object which Pewabic will kiln fire. Your artwork will be ready for pickup 4-6 weeks after your workshop and we will contact you when it is completed. Please pick up your artwork within a week of notification.
