This year we kick-off the weekend with an in-person preview gala at the pottery on Thursday, June 9. “After two years as a virtual event, we are thrilled to bring back this popular live celebration” –– Pewabic Executive Director Steve McBride.

This ticketed preview party fundraiser includes cocktails and a strolling supper by Two Unique Catering, decor provided by Display Group and live music from Ben Sharkey.
Attendees will be the first to shop Pewabic’s new Summer Collection releases and work by ceramic artists from across North America. Participate in an online auction featuring Detroit experiences, memorabilia, and one-of-a-kind Pewabic ceramics.
We thank everyone who purchased a ticket to our fundraiser event this year and to the incredible sponsors who made it all possible. Special thanks to this year’s Presenting Sponsor Strategic Staffing Solutions, our Decor Sponsor Display Group, our Diamond Sponsors John & Anne Roberts, Bar Sponsor Gompers, Cornish & Barr, Entertainment Sponsor Giffels Webster, Design Showcase Sponsor Michigan Design Center, and Solar Energy Sponsor Pink Energy.

The preview party is just the beginning! Our House & Garden Show festivities continue on through the weekend, Friday, June 10 - Sunday, June 12. These days are free and open to the public and offer something for every art enthusiast in your crew.

Be among the first to see Pewabic’s newest glazes and a new addition to our Postcard Series, alongside recent pieces by more than 50 artists from throughout North America–– including large-scale sculptures by ceramic artists Mark Chatterley and Scott Ross.
This packed weekend also features live sculpting by Mark Chatterley and wheel throwing demonstrations by Pewabic artisans.
We encourage you to explore the National Historic Landmark Pottery building and learn about Pewabic’s 119 year history in Detroit. Experience our archival collection through strolling museum talks in our new exhibition “Pewabic: Detroit’s Pottery.”

Pewabic Reintroduction
Pewabic has seen it all. Established in 1903, the pottery has weathered through The Great Depression and two world wars. Needless to say, we are happy to be here today and we are proud to call Detroit our home.
We have been so lucky to connect with many of you for the first time during another uncertain time. This global pandemic has changed so much of the way we are used to interacting with each other.
