Friday PM Tile Making

Fridays from 6pm-9pm 

Instructor: Josh Kochis

Session I: January 10-February 28 (8-week course)

Students will learn how Pewabic traditionally designs, fabricates and glazes tiles. Sculpting, carving, and hand-painting will be covered, as well as mold-making for pressing tile in this class taught by Pewabic Slip Casting Specialist/Tile Pressing Technician Josh Kochis.  

Who should take this class?

This class is best suited for adults (18+) who have never worked with tile before or would like a refresher on their fundamentals! 

Class includes: 

  • 3 hours of weekly instruction (during scheduled class time)

  • Glazes, slips, underglazes, and firings 

  • A small studio shelf

  • The first 25 pounds of clay

  • 3 Weekly Open Studio Opportunities (schedule posted) 

Please note: This purchase is not transferable. No refund will be issued during the first week of classes. Pewabic Education Studio is under no obligation to reschedule classes canceled upon the closure of the facility due to inclement weather, power outages, misunderstanding of the schedule, Covid shutdown, and/or personal schedule conflicts. There is no guarantee that a make-up class will be offered. Classes will not be prorated to accommodate a missed class, nor will refunds be issued.
