She is fascinated by the science of clay, and has referred to it as one of her “greatest teachers”. \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eMcHenry in her own words: “...when I face an obstacle in the studio, I can see how much I’ve grown to love solving problems. A life in clay means that I will never be done learning all it has to teach me. The excitement in knowing this allows me to approach the material each day with an openness to the unknown and where it might lead me.” \u003c\/span\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp dir=\"ltr\"\u003e\u003cspan\u003eSusan McHenry teaches at Kalamazoo Institute of Arts. Her work has been exhibited on the regional and national levels.
