Monday PM Beginner Handbuilding 

Mondays from 6pm - 9pm 

Instructor: Ryan Gumbleton 

Session I: January 6 - February 24 (6-week course) Prorated for MLK Day and President’s Day

Students will learn the basics of handbuilding including slab, coil, pinching techniques, and glaze application in this class taught by Pewabic Kiln Technician, Ryan Gumbleton. 

Who should take this class? 

The class is best suited for adults (18+) who have never handbuilt with clay before, or for those who would like to review the basics. 

Class includes: 

  • 3 hours of weekly instruction (during scheduled class time)

  • Glazes, slips, underglazes, and firings 

  • A small studio shelf

  • The first 25 pounds of clay

  • 3 Weekly Open Studio Opportunities (schedule posted) 

Please note: This purchase is not transferable. No refund will be issued during the first week of classes. Pewabic Education Studio is under no obligation to reschedule classes canceled upon the closure of the facility due to inclement weather, power outages, misunderstanding of the schedule, Covid shutdown, and/or personal schedule conflicts. There is no guarantee that a make-up class will be offered. Classes will not be prorated to accommodate a missed class, nor will refunds be issued.
