Friday AM Centering Sessions - "Creative Journaling in Clay"

Dates: Fall 2023 - Session 1 and 2: August 25 - December 8 (16-week course)

Time: Friday mornings from 10am - 1pm

Class Description: This course combines Narrative Therapy, Creative Journaling, and clay work to facilitate the exploration of personal narratives in addition to each individual’s personal symbology and color language by introducing illustrative approaches to clay. Participants will be provided with over 40 engaging Creative Journal prompts which are designed to encourage deeper reflection into each individual’s inner world. This course includes weekly group art therapy reflection sessions and training in illustrative decorative techniques including sgraffito, underglaze illustration, mono-printing, and slip inlay in addition to demonstrations in hand-building and wheel-throwing. Prior clay experience is welcome, but not required.

Open Studio Hours Session 1 and 2 through sign up system only:

Mondays: 10am-1pm and 2-5pm

Tuesdays: 2-5pm

Thursdays: 6-9pm

Friday-Saturday: 2-5pm

Please note: No cash refunds will be issued during the first week of classes. Pewabic Education Studio is under no obligation to reschedule classes that are canceled upon the closure of the facility due to inclement weather, power outages, misunderstanding of schedule, covid shut down, and or personal schedule. There is no guarantee that a make-up class will be offered. Classes will not be prorated to accommodate a missed class, nor will refunds be issued.
