Monday PM Beginner Handbuilding
Mondays from 6 pm - 9 pm
Instructor: Ryan Gumbleton
Spring 2023 - Session 1: April 24-June 12 (Prorated for memorial day | 7-week course)
In this class taught by Pewabic Kiln Technician, Ryan Gumbleton, students who have never handbuilt before or have only rudimentary skills will learn to make with coils, slabs, and pinching. Basic glazing techniques will be covered.
Who should take this class?: This class is best suited for adults (18+) who have never handbuilt before or would like a refresher on their fundamentals.
What’s included?:
- 3 hours of weekly instruction (during scheduled class time),
- Glazes, slips, underglazes, and firings
- A small studio shelf
- open studio opportunity
- The first 25 pounds of clay
Open Studio Hours Session 1 through sign up system only:
Mondays: 10 am - 1 pm and 2-5 pm
Tuesdays: 2-5 pm
Thursdays 6-9 pm
Friday-Saturday 2-5 pm
Please note: No cash refunds will be issued during the first week of classes. Pewabic Education Studio is under no obligation to reschedule classes that are canceled upon the closure of the facility due to inclement weather, power outages, misunderstanding of schedule, covid shut down, and or personal schedule. There is no guarantee that a make-up class will be offered. Classes will not be prorated to accommodate a missed class, nor will refunds be issued.
