Pamela Timmons | Vases
In Pamela Timmons’ own words:
I have been a full time potter for 30 years. I began my career in horticulture, ran out of vases, so I took a pottery class & the rest is history! Much of my work reflects this interest in gardening. I started with the wheel, expanded into hand building, & eventually discovered sculpting, which has become the foundation of much of my work. In the last decade, I have begun teaching pottery classes at an art center & giving clay demonstrations to schools, art groups & garden clubs. I especially enjoy demonstrating for elementary schools & garden clubs. The children ask the most amazing & unexpected questions; the gardeners ask the most pertinent. A number of years ago, just for fun, I taught myself a unique firing technique that involves sawdust, copper wire, seaweed & lots of fumes & flames. This has led to some beautiful work, that, though quite different from my usual work, is deeply satisfying. Clay is ever changing, always challenging, & I can't wait to find where it leads me next!
