Storytelling Through Slip Casting

Through a blend of Mindfulness-Based Art Therapy and Narrative Therapy, this course combines the technical skills of slip-casting with a deep exploration of personal symbology to encourage a thoughtful and self-reflective slip-casting practice. Participants will receive training in the technical skills of slip-casting including mold-making, slip formulation, casting, finishing, and glazing as well as weekly group art therapy sessions which relate the phases of change within the slip-casting process to life issues outside the studio. Prior clay experience is encouraged, but not required.
