Thursday AM - Mixing Ceramics & Fibers

Thursdays from 10am-1pm

Instructor: Amanda Rogers 

Session 2: February 29-April 18 (8-week course) 

Bring your tools, sketchbook, and your favorite pen as we dive into the possibilities of combining ceramics with fiber materials and processes. We will explore the work of a variety of mixed media artists who mix ceramics with other making traditions. The class will explore incorporating fiber materials and techniques, nichrome wire, and more into your ceramics creations. Taught by Pewabic Marketing Director Amanda Rogers (BFA in Fibers & Textiles & Sustainable Design from Finlandia University).

Who should take this class?: This class is for returning Pewabic Education Studio students only. Students will be responsible for purchasing non-ceramic materials and tools required to finish their designs.

Included in your class: 

• 3 hours in the studio (during scheduled class time)
• Glazes, slips, underglazes, and firings 
• A small studio shelf
• Open studio opportunities
• The first 25 pounds of clay

Open Studio Hours Session 2 through sign up system only:

Mondays: 2-5pm

Wednesdays: 10am-1pm

Tuesdays: 2-5pm

Thursdays: 6-9pm

Friday-Saturday: 2-5pm

Please note: No cash refunds will be issued during the first week of classes. Pewabic Education Studio is under no obligation to reschedule classes that are canceled upon the closure of the facility due to inclement weather, power outages, misunderstanding of schedule, Covid shutdown, and/or personal schedule. There is no guarantee that a make-up class will be offered. Classes will not be prorated to accommodate a missed class, nor will refunds be issued.
