Wednesday AM Independent Study Lab 

Wednesdays from 10am-1pm

Fall 2023 - Session 1: August 23-October 11 (8-week Lab)

In this 8-week standing studio reservation, students will have the opportunity to access the studio for independent work. A studio staff member will be available for basic questions, but not for demos. This is reserved for those who have taken multiple classes at Pewabic within the last year, are considered advanced students, are able to work completely independently and follow studio guidelines. 

Who should take this study lab?: 

This class is best suited for adults (18+) who are extremely familiar with our current studio setup, guidelines, and staff. Students who sign up for this time slot must have taken multiple classes with us very recently and would consider themselves intermediate or advanced (Can independently create successful ceramics projects without instruction or supervision and has a strong glaze practice without kiln incidents) 

What’s included?: 

• 3 hours in the studio (during scheduled labs time) 
• Glazes, slips, underglazes, and firings 
• A small studio shelf
• Open studio opportunity
• The first 25 pounds of clay

Open Studio Hours Session 1 and Session 2 through sign up system only:

Mondays: 10am-1pm and 2-5pm

Tuesdays: 2-5pm

Thursdays: 6-9pm

Friday + Saturday: 2-5pm

Please note: No cash refunds will be issued during the first week of classes. Pewabic Education Studio is under no obligation to reschedule classes that are canceled upon the closure of the facility due to inclement weather, power outages, misunderstanding of schedule, covid shut down, and or personal schedule. There is no guarantee that a make-up class will be offered. Classes will not be prorated to accommodate a missed class, nor will refunds be issued.
