For over 123 years, artists, educators, and supporters like you have helped shape this microcosm of creativity deeply rooted in Detroit’s cultural landscape.

The glorious days of warm weather return, and with them comes our favorite annual tradition, the Pewabic Pottery House & Garden Show! Now in its 36th year, this event features new ceramic art, live music, and more, presented by Detroit’s own event-planning collective, Display Group.

Garden Party Fundraiser Gala – Thursday, June 4 

We begin the weekend with our ticketed Garden Party gala, a fundraiser directly supporting Pewabic’s mission to enrich the human spirit through clay. Guests will enjoy a strolling supper by Two Unique Catering, lush decor by Display Group, and live music from the incredibly talented Detroit recording artist, Ben Sharkey.

Attendees will also have first access to Pewabic’s 2026 Summer Collection and new ceramic work by over 50 independent artists from across the country. Witness the magic of live sculpting by celebrated artist Jeri Hollister and wheel-throwing demonstrations by the Pewabic Vessel-Making Team.

Experience the transformative power of clay during a hands-on workshop experience 

Enhance your visit to Pewabic with a special, hands-on experience during the annual House & Garden Show. During this 1-hour, adult (16+) workshop, participants will choose 1 of 4 designs and learn how to bulb glaze in the same way as the Pewabic Glaze Team. Select the colors for your very own custom tile to gift to a loved one or cherish as a keepsake forever. 

House and Garden Show Workshops - $60 per person 

• Friday, June 5, 2026, at 12 pm and 2 pm 

• Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 10 am, 12 pm, 2 pm, and 4 pm 

• Sunday, June 7, 2026, at 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm

Reserve your spot today while space is still available. You will take your tile home at a later date. Our team has to fire them in our kilns after the weekend concludes! If you’re visiting from out of town, we can arrange a shipment of your tile for a shipping fee.

Choose from 4 tile designs to glaze, including our seasonal Trillium Tile, only available during the spring and summer months for a limited time 

Free and Open to the Public: House & Garden Show Weekend

There’s still so much to enjoy all weekend long, thanks to general operating support from supporters just like you. From Friday, June 5, through Sunday, June 7, the House & Garden Show is free and open to the public, offering activities for art lovers of all ages.

• Explore Pewabic’s latest ceramic creations and shop exclusive pieces from over 50 ceramic artists across North America.

• Discover the artistry behind the work with live wheel-throwing demos from our team, ceramic process demonstrations by Jeri Hollister, and strolling tours through the fabrication spaces inside the historic building.

• Take a stroll through history up on the second floor as you explore the updated museum exhibition, Pewabic: Detroit’s Pottery.

• Sip and savor in our Courtyard Biergarten, sponsored by fleurdetroit, and enjoy live music from Stereobabe (Saturday) and Pinter Whitnick (Sunday), with local food trucks Nu Deli (Saturday) and Detroit BBQ Co. (Sunday) serving delicious eats.

The fun continues throughout the summer with the return of our popular weekend Summer Market series, starting June 27, and the always-anticipated Summer Sale on July 25-26. 

If you can’t make it to this year’s Garden Party Fundraiser, you can still support Pewabic and receive this year’s limited edition commemorative ceramic pin as a token of our appreciation. This year’s pin was hand-sculpted by Pewabic Marketing Director, Amanda Rogers, as a meditation on the importance of handcrafted art and the beauty found in nature.
