The reason a tile is designated as a second can range from inconsistent glaze surfaces, bubbles in the glaze surface, glaze that ran too much in the kiln and required grinding at the edge, back cracks, minor surface cracks, warping or distorted forms, and maker’s marks that are placed incorrectly or missing. We have sorted through our stock of seconds to pull the best of these imperfect tiles for this sale.
