Historical Exhibit
SATURDAY, MARCH 21 - MONDAY, MAY 4
This exhibition traces Detroit’s deep history with clay and the institutions that shaped it. From Pewabic Pottery’s early days in the Arts & Crafts Movement to the educational roots of the College for Creative Studies (CCS) and the innovations at Cranbrook Academy of Art, the story of ceramics in Detroit is one of artistry, community, and education.
The exhibition weaves together historic objects, archival material, and contemporary works to show how these places and people built a ceramics tradition that still influences Detroit artists today.
More information to be announced.
