Expand your handbuilding skills in this intermediate ceramics class designed for students with previous handbuilding experience. This course focuses on developing more complex construction techniques while strengthening craftsmanship, design, and surface development.
Students will build on foundational coil, slab, and pinch methods to create more ambitious forms and explore advanced approaches to construction, finishing, glazing, and the ceramic process. Previous handbuilding experience is required, as beginner techniques and introductory handbuilding fundamentals will not be covered.
This is an adult class for students ages 18 and older.
Class includes:
- 3 hours of weekly instruction
- Your first 25 lbs. of clay
- A personal student shelf for storage
- Access to open studio hours outside of class
This class is intended for students who have completed a beginner wheel class or have equivalent wheel-throwing experience and are ready to build on their existing skills.
Important Information: The class is non-transferable, and no refunds will be issued after the first week of classes begins that Monday. Pewabic Education Studio is not responsible for rescheduling classes due to inclement weather, power outages, CDC-related shutdowns, schedule misunderstandings, or personal conflicts.
