Guardian Building
Known as Detroit’s “Cathedral of Finance”, the Guardian Building skyscraper still stands today as a testament to the late-1920s Arts and Crafts era. You can view these large-scale Pewabic tile installations from the building’s Griswold and Congress Street entrances.
Click through the images below to view contemporary photos, archival photos, and a rendition of the original blueprint sketch.
Please note that the ceiling tile on the interior of the Guardian Building was created by Rookwood Pottery in Cincinnati, Ohio.
