Learn the fundamentals of wheel throwing in this beginner-friendly class with Pewabic Education Technician, Erin Mae. Students will learn the essential skills of throwing on the pottery wheel, including centering, shaping, and trimming, while creating functional ceramic pieces.
Throughout the six-week session, you'll also be introduced to the ceramic process from raw clay to finished work, including the basics of glazing and surface finishings. This class is designed specifically for beginners; intermediate and advanced wheel-throwing techniques will not be covered.
This is an adult class for students ages 18 and older.
Class includes:
- 3 hours of weekly instruction
- Your first 25 lbs. of clay
- A personal student shelf for storage
- Access to open studio hours outside of class
Important Information: The class is non-transferable, and no refunds will be issued after the first week of classes begins that Monday. Pewabic Education Studio is not responsible for rescheduling classes due to inclement weather, power outages, CDC-related shutdowns, schedule misunderstandings, or personal conflicts.
