Explore our National Historic Landmark Pottery

Pewabic Pottery is always open to the public, and admission is free. Located on Detroit's East Jefferson Avenue, our Tudor-style pottery building was constructed in 1907 and is one of the oldest continuously operating potteries in the nation.

When you visit, check out our museum, store, and production spaces. Our fabrication studio will be open for strolling tours where you can see the people, processes, and equipment that make our iconic ceramics.

There is no cost to visit our Museum collection or to take a strolling tour during NCECA.

Accessibility

A ramp is available to enter the historic building by request - call 313.626.2010 when you arrive! Our Education Studio and Museum are currently only accessible by stairs.

Complimentary onsite parking is available.

Getting to the pottery

We are located on East Jefferson, about 5 miles from downtown Detroit. If you don't have a vehicle, the best way to get to the pottery is by bus. You can see updated fares and download the payment app here.

Pewabic will be featured in the exhibition shuttle bus tour from Huntington Place Convention Center on Wednesday, March 25 and Thursday, March 26.

During NCECA, Pewabic's fabrication studio will be open for free strolling tours during our open hours. See the equipment and processes used to make our iconic pottery, including our 1912 clay mixer that still makes the clay used in our tiles and vessels.

Our Education Studio will be closed and inaccessible to all Pewabic students ahead of and during the conference. We appreciate your understanding, and encourage you to get involved in NCECA's 60th annual conference held in Detroit for the first time!
