LOCATION: Pewabic/Hybrid

HOURS: Full time 40 hours per week

REPORTS TO: Senior Director of Abundance and Happiness

 

Head of People & Facilities

Pewabic Pottery is seeking an experienced and people-centered Head of People & Facilities to lead our human resources and facility functions. This role plays a critical part in shaping employee experience, ensuring compliant and effective people systems, and maintaining the campus with multiple historic properties.

The Head of People & Facilities reports to and collaborates closely with the Senior Director of Abundance and Happiness to support Pewabic’s people, operations, and culture.

This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for an HR professional who brings strong judgment, emotional intelligence, and operational discipline to a mission-driven organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • People Operations and HR Leadership
  • Payroll and Benefits
  • Talent Acquisition and Employee Lifecycle
  • Facilities Oversight
  • Human Resources and Facilities Budgeting
  • Operations Support and Reporting

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7–10 years of progressive experience across multiple HR functions, including employee relations, benefits, compensation, payroll coordination, and HR administration.

  • Experience operating independently in a highly autonomous or department-of-one HR role.

  • Demonstrated ability to navigate complex interpersonal situations with emotional intelligence, sound judgment, and discretion.

  • Experience overseeing facilities operations and vendor relationships strongly preferred.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with leadership and staff.


Work Environment

  • Hybrid position with flexibility based on organizational needs.  

  • This is an exempt level position based on a 40 hour work week.
