Kiln Pad Pop-Up | Brian Caponi

October 7, 2018

Brian Caponi's tertiary | untitled | green is comprised of distinct but intertwined bodies of work that move through a range of ceramic materials and processes; each wading intently through notions and ideas relating to utility, history, and longing. Slip cast porcelain forms derived from Ming Dynasty collapsed Saggar/Porcelain objects, abstracted photographs as confetti decals displaced across the surfaces of thrown pottery forms, intensely constructed sculptural porcelain tiles, are some of things that are sure to challenge and delight.

Brian Caponi exhibits internationally. He received his MFA from New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University in 2013. He presently serves as Chair of Ceramics at the Royal Oak Campus at Oakland Community College.
