Kiln Pad Pop-Up: Henry J.H. Crissman

Pewabic is pleased to present a Kiln Pad Pop-Up of the work of Henry James Haver Crissman, 1-4 PM, Sept. 16, featuring new works, as well as pieces included in his recent "Hello Future" installation at the MOCAD and "Please" project at Trinosophes.
A longtime Pewabic education studio instructor and kiln builder, Crissman will share this body of richly layered and idiosyncratic wares that utilize all manners of firing techniques, glazes, underglazes, slips, decals, china paints, lusters and even grinding into the glazed surfaces of his fired works. Crissman then adds successive layers to reveal images, share his thoughts, and often his phone number.
The pieces in this one-day solo exhibition are available for purchase on a cash-and-carry basis, on our Kiln Pad, rain or shine.
