Medium Classic Vase | Rose Quartz
Each Classic Vase is individually hand thrown by a Pewabic artisan, continuing our long tradition of wheel-thrown, one-of-a-kind art pieces.
In the early days of Pewabic, founder Mary Chase Perry Stratton sketched shapes for her vessel thrower, Joseph Heerich, to throw on the wheel. Perry Stratton would then add decorative elements to the surface before firing it. Though a contemporary piece, our Classic Vase is created through a similar process of applying a design – in this case using slip – to a leather-hard wheel-thrown piece, before bisque firing it.
Rose Quartz Glaze
This glossy Rose Quartz glaze came from a happy accident. This holiday season, a kiln-load of anticipated Winterberry-glazed vessels misfired creating this multidimensional color that goes from light gray-blue to hints of pale pink. There are only a small number of these stunning pieces available so don’t wait!
