Learn the fundamentals of tile making in this beginner-friendly ceramics class with Pewabic Tile Presser and Slip Caster Josh Kochis. Designed for students new to ceramics or tile work, this course introduces the basic processes of designing and producing ceramic tiles.

Students will explore tile construction and prototyping, along with an introduction to simple one-part tile mold making. The class will also cover the basics of pressing techniques and glaze finishing, providing a full introduction to the tile-making process from form to surface.

This is an adult class for students ages 18 and older.

Class includes:

  • 3 hours of weekly instruction
  • Your first 25 lbs. of clay
  • A personal student shelf for storage
  • Access to open studio hours outside of class

Important Information: The class is non-transferable, and no refunds will be issued after the first week of classes begins that Monday. Pewabic Education Studio is not responsible for rescheduling classes due to inclement weather, power outages, CDC-related shutdowns, schedule misunderstandings, or personal conflicts.
