Guardian Building
Known as Detroit’s “Cathedral of Finance”, the Guardian Building skyscraper still stands today as a testament to the late-1920s Arts and Crafts era. You can view these large-scale Pewabic tile installations from the building’s Griswold and Congress Street entrances.
Click through the images below to view contemporary photos, archival photos, and a rendition of the original blueprint sketch of some of the exterior designs.
Please note that the ceiling tiles on the interior of the Guardian Building were created by Rookwood Pottery in Cincinnati, Ohio.
