Join us for a 7-week exploration of wheel throwing through the eyes and hands of working ceramic artists. Each week, a different Pewabic or community artist will lead a demonstration, sharing their unique approach to form, technique, process, and problem-solving at the wheel.
From refining throwing skills and altering forms to surface considerations and finishing techniques, participants will gain insight into a wide range of methods and artistic perspectives.
Designed for intermediate wheel throwers, this series offers a rare opportunity to learn from multiple makers, ask questions, exchange ideas, and expand your ceramic practice through observation, discussion, and inspiration. Each session is a conversation in clay—highlighting the many paths artists take from a lump of clay to a finished piece.
This is an adult class for students ages 18 and older.
Class includes:
- 3 hours of weekly instruction
- Your first 25 lbs. of clay
- A personal student shelf for storage
- Access to open studio hours outside of class
This series is intended for intermediate wheel students with prior experience who are looking to expand their practice through artist demonstrations and conceptual exploration.
Important Information: The class is non-transferable, and no refunds will be issued after the first week of classes begin that Monday. Pewabic Education Studio is not responsible for rescheduling classes due to inclement weather, power outages, CDC-related shutdowns, schedule misunderstandings, or personal conflicts. Makeup classes are not guaranteed, and classes will not be prorated for missed sessions.
