Spirit of Detroit Tile

The Spirit of Detroit statue is one of Detroit's most identifiable landmarks. Artist Marshall Fredricks was commissioned to create the piece in 1955. It was dedicated on September 23, 1958. The statue has occasionally donned Detroit sports team jerseys, celebrating the passion and drive of Detroit.
