Tuesdays from 6:00 PM –9:00 PM

Instructor: Kevin Weeder
Session I: May 13 - June 24 (7-week course)

In this beginner-level course taught by Tile Pressing Technician Kevin Weeder, students will learn essential handbuilding techniques such as pinch pots, coils, and slabs. They will also learn basic glazing methods.

Who Should Take This Class?
This course is ideal for adults (18+) who are new to handbuilding or would like to review the fundamentals. Advanced techniques will not be covered. 

What’s Included:

  • 3 hours of weekly instruction 

  • Access to a variety of materials, including glazes, slips, and underglazes

  • Kiln firings 

  • A small personal studio shelf 

  • The first 25 pounds of clay 

  • 3 weekly open studio sessions (schedule will be posted in advance)

Important Information:

  • The class is non-transferable, and no refunds will be issued after the first week of classes.

  • Pewabic Education Studio is not responsible for rescheduling classes due to facility closures caused by inclement weather, power outages, CDC health shutdowns, schedule misunderstandings, or personal scheduling conflicts.

  • Make-up classes are not guaranteed, and classes will not be prorated for missed sessions.
