The Michigan Central Depot Tile features the image of the large many-windowed building with the words "Michigan Central Depot" across the bottom of the tile.
The two toned nature of the tile means that the design and words have been scraped of their glaze giving them a creamy off-white look while the background of the image is in the crystalline, shimmering deep green Viridian glaze.

Michigan Central Station, also known as Michigan Central Depot, served all passenger trains that came through Detroit from 1914-1988. Its ornate Beaux Arts style facade includes thirteen floors of offices above two opulent mezzanine levels. After the Amtrak line relocated in the 80s, the building fell into disuse and major disrepair.

In 2018, the Ford Motor Company purchased the building and began the process of bringing the once-grand station back to life. After six years of extensive historic-minded renovations, Michigan Central opened once more as a mixed-use facility for Ford’s operations in the Corktown neighborhood.
