Discover the fundamentals of handbuilding in this beginner-friendly class with Pewabic Tile Presser, Kevin Weeder. Students will learn the three essential handbuilding techniques—coil, slab, and pinch construction- while creating functional and decorative ceramic pieces.

Throughout the eight-week session, you'll also be introduced to the basics of glazing and gain an understanding of the ceramic process from fresh clay to finished work. This class is designed specifically for beginners; intermediate and advanced handbuilding techniques will not be covered.

This is an adult class for students ages 18 and older.

Class includes:

  • 3 hours of weekly instruction
  • Your first 25 lbs. of clay
  • A personal student shelf for storage
  • Access to open studio hours outside of class

Important Information: The class is non-transferable, and no refunds will be issued after the first week of classes begins that Monday. Pewabic Education Studio is not responsible for rescheduling classes due to inclement weather, power outages, CDC-related shutdowns, schedule misunderstandings, or personal conflicts.
