Friday PM: Intro to Slip Casting
Fridays from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM

Session 2: July 11 - August 29 (8-week course)
In this hands-on 8-week course taught by Pewabic Slip Casting Specialist and Tile Pressing Technician Josh Kochis, students will explore the foundational techniques of mold-making and liquid clay (slip) casting.
Starting with the basics of tile mold-making, students will progress to creating simple vessels, handles, and decorative elements. This course will provide you with the skills to conceptualize ideas, design models, fabricate one- and two-part molds, and produce multiple copies of your designs.
Who Should Take This Class?
This class is ideal for students with a basic understanding of ceramics and one-part mold-making and for those who are eager to expand their skills and dive into the more advanced technique of slip casting.

Access to a variety of materials, including glazes, slips, and underglazes

Kiln firings

A small personal studio shelf

The first 25 pounds of clay

3 weekly open studio sessions (schedule will be posted in advance)

The class is non-transferable, and no refunds will be issued after the first week of classes.

Pewabic Education Studio is not responsible for rescheduling classes due to facility closures caused by inclement weather, power outages, CDC health shutdowns, schedule misunderstandings, or personal scheduling conflicts.

Make-up classes are not guaranteed, and classes will not be prorated for missed sessions.
