Mask Policy Update: Masks for labs and open studio are optional but welcomed. Individual instructors decide the mask policy for their classes. You will be contacted via email by your instructor regarding mask requirements before your class begins. Masks are required for all Tile Glazing Workshops regardless of vaccination status.

Students will have the opportunity to receive instruction in wheel throwing during their 8-week course. Classes include 3 hours of instruction during scheduled times, firings, glazes, a studio shelf, open studio opportunities, and the first 25 pounds of clay.
Space is limited. Intermediate + Advanced classes are reserved for returning Pewabic students. New students must take a "beginner" class with us before moving onto the next level.

Session 1: January 4-February 22 (8-Week Course)
Take inspiration from your ceramics practice to develop unique pieces of wearable art in the form of earrings, necklaces, pins, and more.
This course is for returning Pewabic Education Studio students only with an intermediate grasp on clay.
$245 per slot | Wednesdays 6pm - 9pm
Session 1: January 4 - February 22 (8-Week Course)
During this 8 week course, students will learn how Pewabic traditionally designs, fabricates and glazes tiles. Sculpting, carving and hand-painting will be covered, as well as mold-making for pressing tile.
No previous tile-making experience is necessary.
$245 per slot | Wednesdays 6pm - 9pm
Session 2: March 1 - April 19 (8-Week Course)
Students will use the basic principles of mold-making for tile as a starting point for working with liquid clay. Multiple applications of the casting process will be covered, including the production of simple vessels, handles, and ornamentation.
$490 | 16-week course
Centering Sessions led by Limited Licensed Professional Counselor, Kathryn Whitlock, incorporate mindfulness-based art therapy and clay work. Each course includes 3 hours of weekly group engagement for 16 weeks (48 hours total).
Kathryn wil be accepting students for the upcoming 16-week Winter 2023 class offering "Storytelling Through Slip Casting" by application. Please see the Centering Sessions page linked below for more information.
